The OU - Kitchen Konundrum

Game website

Kitchen Konundrum was an addictive word game to engage with a younger audience of prospective students aged 17-25, introducing them to the Open University brand. The idea was based on the values and benefits of the Open University and the fact that you can study from home. Naturally the game had to be mentally challenging and therefore a word game was devised in which users had to solve a conundrum word puzzle using fridge magnets. It featured a leaderboard with email notifications and a ‘tell-a-friend’ viral facility. An email and media campaign alongside the game to get the viral activity going. Further emails were sent out to encourage repeat visits.

I played a key role in designing the game interface plus email and media campaigns.

"Whether we're responding to a short brief or working to a full specification, Tammy consistently delivers work of the highest quality. She has a sensible grasp of practical development concerns such as SEO and accessibility which ensures her concepts translate to device properly. We've worked together on website redesigns, brand creation and development, mobile device design, touchscreen interfaces and HTML email design. Tammy is a diligent, commercially minded designer and I will continue to work with her for the foreseeable future."

"Tammy has many great qualities as a Senior Designer, not only can she turn her hand at creating a brand defining campaign utilising real insight and a 'sixth sense' for what will work for the consumer but also has that rare skill of being able to breathe life into that vision through her creative technical skills too. Media design & build, campaign web sites, moving image and illustrative knowledge coupled with marketing edge, is an appealing mix of skills that make Tammy a unique designer. "
